Description
Job Summary:Assists in designing and executing community relations activities, independently coordinates with stakeholders/vendors for these activities, and analyzes and synthesizes outcome metrics for ensuring future success. Engages and collaborates with employee and community stakeholders to identify and execute community relations activities and create visibility, and completes asset execution and brand alignment tasks. Implements and executes strategic plans and initiatives, manages components of on-going strategic efforts, and provides guidance and oversight on policies and processes for addressing community needs and brand/reputation management. Manages sponsorship deliverables for requests to ensure prompt delivery and execution, maintains appropriate event budgets, and coordinates with internal stakeholders to ensure sponsorship participation/activation.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Completes work assignments autonomously and supports business-specific projects by applying expertise in subject area and business knowledge to generate creative solutions; encourages team members to adapt to and follow all procedures and policies. Collaborates cross-functionally and/or externally to achieve effective business decisions; provides recommendations and solves complex problems; escalates high-priority issues or risks, as appropriate; monitors progress and results. Supports the development of work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; identifies resources to accomplish priorities and deadlines. Identifies, speaks up, and capitalizes on improvement opportunities across teams; uses influence to guide others and engages stakeholders to achieve appropriate solutions.
- Seeks to understand and address community needs by: researching and synthesizing information related to community concerns, issues, and expectations to support the intersection of both community and business operational need; and reviewing and conducting analyses of community health data and/or information in collaboration with Community Health and Operations partners.
- Promotes employee and community engagement in alignment with business strategy by: implementing and executing plans and initiatives; managing components of on-going strategic efforts; and providing guidance and oversight on policies and processes to address community need, community partnerships or community presence, employee engagement, and brand/reputation management.
- Supports critical community relationships by: collaborating with stakeholders from community organizations to identify and execute community relations activities (e.g., events, investments, sponsorships), and completing tasks to ensure asset execution and alignment with brand; engaging with internal and external stakeholders to create visibility in the community; and serving on one or more community and other local task forces, committees, and planning groups.
- Serves as an educational and informational resource to others, internally and externally, by: responding to inquiries from community members and leaders with information and educational materials; and answering complex questions from internal departments on community health care and/or community relations process and policy, escalating as needed.
- Contributes to successful internal and external community programming by: recommending and independently executing elements of projects, initiatives, and programs that support business objectives and community relations; assisting in designing and executing employee engagement activities, community initiatives, and special events aligned with operational and business priorities and community engagement strategy; independently coordinating with internal/external stakeholders and vendors to facilitate the execution of employee engagement and other internal activities, community initiatives, and events; and analyzing and synthesizing outcome metrics and feedback to improve performance of projects, initiatives, events, and their respective impacts.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in community and external affairs or a directly related field.
- Bachelors degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Sociology, Marketing, Business, Communications, Community Relations, Political Science, Public Relations, or related field AND minimum five (5) years of experience in community relations, community outreach, public relations, health care or public policy, nonprofit administration, or a directly related field OR Minimum eight (8) years of experience in community relations, community outreach, public relations, health care or public policy, nonprofit administration, or a directly related field.

Pay Range: $124000 - $160380 / year Kaiser Permanente is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted pay range is based on possible base salaries for the role and does not include the value of our total rewards package. Actual pay determined at offer will be based on years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills and geographic location along with a review of current employees in similar roles to ensure that pay equity is achieved and maintained across Kaiser Permanente. Travel: Yes, 10 % of the Time On-site: Work location is on-site (KP designated office, medical office building or hospital).
