Growing together.Under the general direction of the Clinic Administrator, the Department Support Specialist II performs varied clerical and typing duties for Managing Physician, Department Chief or Associate Department Chief and management staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyzes eligibility media
- Utilizes various system applications for reporting purposes
- Interprets multiple medical plan benefits to maximize accurate collections
- Endorses mutual respect amongst all members of the healthcare team
- Practices positive guest/peer relationships and works with others to promote an efficient and effective team
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and understands how this relates to creating a caring environment and a favorable impression regarding KSC commitment to the welfare of our patients
- This position generally supports department chief/managing physicians

Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited program
- 3+ years general administrative experience and 2+ years medical insurance verification experience or experience scheduling operative procedures; OR 1+ years of KSC experience in a position similar, but not limited to, DSS I, ASRs, Contact Center or Member Services reps, MAs/CMAs or Schedulers
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office/PC experience
- Typing skills 40 WPM with 10 or fewer errors
- Basic math ability
- Alpha/Numeric Forms Entry
- Successful completion of the EPIC PM Front Desk Class and Hospital Charge Capture
- IM Bills lead for department
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPT/ICD coding
- Typing skills 55 WPM with 5 or fewer errors
- 10 key by touch
- Ability to speak/understand Spanish
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.00 to $35.72 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
