Description
Pharmacy Technician I Part Time Rotating Position SummaryThe Pharmacy Technician serves as a part of the healthcare team at Piedmont Medical Center and collaborates with other team members to provide optimal care. The Pharmacy Technician accepts responsibility and accountability for provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures. Assists pharmacists in preparing, labeling and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and supplies, receiving, sorting, and stocking medications and supplies. Bills and credits medications to patients.

Education/Other Qualifications:
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree preferred.
Minimum Experience: Acute Care Setting: Minimum of two years in any setting with one year of experience in a hospital setting preferred. Considerable knowledge and application of basic mathematic skills, including ratio and proportion relationships; strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Considerable knowledge of medication names (both trade and generic) and their doses, routes of administration and adverse effects.
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: Current SC Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern license required. SC State-Certified Pharmacy Technician registration preferred. National Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB) preferred. American Heart Association BLS Certification required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire.
