- Demonstrates flexibility in responding to unpredicted situations, such as emergencies, assignment and staffing or schedule changes. Responds to crisis situations with confidence and clarity, delegating as appropriate to others on the team.
- Sets priorities independently, prepares assignments and duties at the beginning of each shift, adjusting and delegating as situations change on the unit as needed.
- Supports the growth and development of nursing personnel by facilitating assessment of educational needs on an ongoing basis. Takes an active role in educating staff when a need and/or opportunity is identified.
- Assists with evaluation and improvement of patient care by assuring an ongoing unit-based quality-monitoring program to include development and implementation of PI monitors and reports.
- Delegates shift duties appropriately including but not limited to chart checks, defib/refrigerator logs, abnormal lab follow up and documentation, cleaning and stocking rooms, checking rooms for outdated supplies, pulling trash/linen as needed
- Performs related duties as required.
The Clinical Supervisor in collaboration with the Director is responsible for the continuous safe operation of the assigned department including all aspects of patient care, staffing, fiscal responsibility and strategic goals of the unit. The Clinical Supervisor is a designated leader responsible for implementation, supervision, and evaluation of safe patient care while promoting a safe environment for employees, families, and visitors. The Clinical Supervisor maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the ages, developmental stages, and special needs of the population. Service Excellence behavior is promoted at all times.
Required:
- Education: Associates degree in Nursing required.
- Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:
- A valid Permanent Multi-State RN License from the state in which you reside is required. Should you hold a RN license from another Compact state, you are required to apply for and obtain a Multi-State RN License from the state in which you reside within 30 days.
- American Heart Association BLS CPR required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire.
- CPI certification with orientation period.
- Other certifications required are determined by specific unit and is required within orientation period.
Preferred:
- Experience: 2-3 years of Acute Care or comparable experience with demonstrated leadership ability preferred
