Growing together.The Optum Rx Strategy team is responsible for identifying and driving forward strategic initiatives across our expansive pharmacy services business. We are part of the Optum Rx Product & Strategy team and work closely with leaders across Optum Rx to develop critical market insights, provide strategic direction, identify and assess new business and product opportunities, develop partnerships, and drive the development of new business solutions. We also partner with teams across Optum, UnitedHealthcare, and UnitedHealth Group to support corporate efforts including business planning, corporate development, Board of Directors communications, and Investor Relations. We focus on the highest impact solutions to address our business priorities in a rapidly evolving pharmacy marketplace.
As a Senior Strategy and Innovation Analyst in OptumRx, you will leverage data, analytics, research, and market insights to solve our greatest business challenges and opportunities, working with the rest of the Optum Rx strategy team.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyze internal and external data to evaluate business challenges
- Guide market research and lead internal and external interviews
- Perform market and opportunity sizing and financial analysis
- Develop and validate hypotheses and drive strategic recommendations
- Communicate analyses and key takeaways through reports and presentations
- Support the OptumRx strategy team in developing deliverables and executing on strategy projects and initiatives

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of related business experience in strategy consulting or corporate strategy with a focus on informing and influencing go-to-market decisions, including the following:
- Analyzing data, building models, and extracting insights (e.g., evaluation of business challenges and opportunities, market and opportunity sizing, financial models, competitor and market trends)
- Developing and validating hypotheses and driving strategic recommendations
- Communicating analyses and key takeaways through reports and presentations to internal and external clients
- 1+ years of experience working within a healthcare strategy environment or with healthcare clients
- Advanced Excel skills (creation of pivot tables, formulas, linking of cells and sheets, advanced manipulation, formatting of data and data visualization)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint for business presentations
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of related business experience in strategy consulting or corporate strategy with a focus on informing and influencing go-to-market decisions
- Experience working within innovation environments (start-ups, venture capital, new business development)
- M&A experience
- Experience guiding market research and leading internal and external interviews
- Healthcare consulting experience
- Investment banking consulting experience
- Experience working for a large consulting firm (top 10)

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
