Description
The Strategic Consultant VI of Consumer Journeys will report to a Consumer Experience Journeys Senior Director and be responsible for launching one to two end-to-end journey teams in support of the National Consumer Experience strategy. The ideal candidate will possess:Expertise in consumer experience, demonstrated through designing and implementing consumer-focused strategies and initiatives. This includes understanding consumer behavior, preferences, and trends to create impactful consumer journey programs. Experience with journey mapping, data analysis, and experience strategy to align business objectives with consumer needs and drive measurable improvements in satisfaction and health outcomes.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners, such as clinical teams, operational staff, marketing, health plan, and IT departments, to ensure seamless implementation of consumer journey initiatives. Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, including identifying and managing key stakeholders, building relationships, and effectively communicating goals and progress, and influencing senior stakeholders.
Proven track record of managing end-to-end programs from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
Job Summary:
Provides expert consultation on strategy development by defining highly complex business problems and opportunities and identifying, weighing, and communicating and presenting alternative approaches. Ensures recommended approaches align to overarching strategic aims. Oversees and conducts highly complex analysis and oversees interpretation of market data and tests hypotheses using expert knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analytical tools to drive towards insightful and actionable insights for the business. Oversees the development and execution of highly complex projects and programs to drive deliverables and effective execution to ensure high-quality business outcomes. Identifies opportunities to adapt processes to improve Return on Investment (ROI), service quality, and operations for company-wide initiatives. Fosters strategic partnerships with senior leadership and establishes trusting relationships to act as a champion for the diverse and complex needs of key stakeholders.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Promotes learning in others by communicating information and providing advice to drive projects forward; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships. Solicits and acts on performance feedback; provides actionable feedback to others, including upward feedback to leadership; influences, mentors, and coaches team members. Practices self-leadership; creates, evaluates, and responds to the strengths and weaknesses of self and unit or team members. Leads the adaptation to competing demands and new responsibilities; adapts to and learns from change, challenges, and feedback. Fosters open dialogue amongst team members.
- Drives the execution of multiple work streams by identifying member and operational needs; translates business strategy into actionable business requirements; develops and updates new procedures and policies. Gains cross-functional support for objectives and priorities; determines and carries out processes and methodologies; solves highly complex issues; escalates and resolves issues as appropriate; sets standards and measures progress. Develops work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; coordinates, obtains and distributes resources. Removes obstacles that impact performance; guides performance and develops contingency plans accordingly; influences the completion of project tasks by others.
- Analyzes and interprets market data by: developing and implementing a plan to address highly complex or critical research questions and test hypotheses with expert knowledge in several areas of data collection and analysis; overseeing and conducting moderately or to highly complex or critical quantitative and qualitative analyses and investigating alternative hypotheses; and validating, interpreting and synthesizing key findings, conclusions, and recommendations for the future for senior leadership.
- Facilitates process improvement efforts by: identifying opportunities to adapt processes to improve return on investment (ROI), operations, service quality, and results for company-wide initiatives; utilizing expert knowledge of business operations to oversee and conduct the implementation of best practices across the organization; and leading the adoption of best practices and future innovations.
- Effectively manages projects and programs by: overseeing the development of highly complex project proposals, including establishing objectives, key stakeholders, milestones, and providing deep technical leadership across programs; overseeing progress on program deliverables in alignment with greater business strategy and key business outcomes across functions and organizations; demonstrating expert knowledge in, and identifying and implementing new methodologies to complete initiatives independently; and overseeing the execution of project plan, ensuring high-quality outcomes, and facilitating long term organizational learning.
- Proactively maintains open streams of communication by: fostering trusting relationships to better navigate and act as a champion for the diverse and complex needs of stakeholders across the organizational landscape; identifying and resolving highly complex or critical issues or risks to strategic program implementation; fostering strategic partnerships with senior leadership to consult and influence the development and refinement of key priorities and strategy; and proactively and persuasively driving the communication of strategic issues and recommendations to senior leadership, and across and upward in the organization.
- Contributes to the development and execution of business strategy by: developing and implementing state-of-the-art strategic plans based on business case and expertise in several fields of health care marketplace; providing expert consultation on complex problem scoping and overseeing the processes and resources needed; communicating and presenting the best identified strategic option(s) to senior leadership based on complex problem scoping, external marketplace research, and analysis of organizational and external strategic approaches; providing expert consultation on challenging business goals and overseeing processes and resources needed to accomplish them; integrating critical knowledge across areas to inform strategic plan and intended outcomes; developing and implementing state-of-the-art strategies to mitigate highly complex or critical barriers, constraints, and risks to execution; and overseeing strategic direction in response to a changing environment.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in project management, forecasting, planning, consulting, strategy development and/or execution, or a directly related field.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Economics, Finance, or related field AND minimum nine (9) years of experience in strategic planning, strategy facilitation, execution of large-scope strategic projects or a directly related field OR minimum twelve (12) years of experience in strategic planning, strategy facilitation, execution of large-scope strategic projects or a directly related field.

Pay Range: $183100 - $236940 / year Kaiser Permanente is committed to pay equity and transparency.
