Job Summary / Responsibilities:
Responsible for set up and assembly of anesthesia and physiologic monitoring equipment. Sets up and assists with the placement of vascular access lines; assists the anesthesia care provider during endotracheal intubation. Identifies appropriate functioning of anesthesia and anesthesia-related equipment; calibrates and recalibrates physiologic monitoring equipment; performs minor repairs on technical equipment for specialized surgical, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Identifies the need for and requisitions highly specialized equipment and supplies. Assists with the transport of patients, cleans equipment, removes anesthesia equipment from the operating room after surgery.
Qualifications:
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Successful completion of a hospital-based anesthesia technician training program of one (1) year duration or more; or, equivalent on-the-job training of at least one (1) to two (2) years under the supervision of an anesthesia care provider.
