Description

Under the direct supervision of the Appointment System Coordinator, schedule and cancel appointments in accordance with facility policies and procedures. Perform relate clerical activities and communicate with medical staff as necessary.

Essential Functions:
- Secures written appointment request & accepts other appointment requests
- Evaluates appointment request & determines type of appointment needed
- Contacts patient for clarification when necessary
- Makes appointment in accordance w/ facility policy & the Booking Appointments PAT section of the PARRS Operators Manual
- Refers patient to nurse or other provider when indicated
- When necessary, completes chart locators & routes to chartroom
- Receives patient cancellation by telephone, mail, &/or recording device
- Transcribes all messages on recording device
- Retains cancellations & routes other messages to appropriate department
- Cancels appointment according to section PAT of the PARRS Operators Manual
- Notifies appropriate reception station when indicated
- This includes such data as appointment availability, distribution of appointment types, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Secondary Functions:

- Booking and coordination of complex appointments, diabetic retinal screening outreach, referral coordination and booking, Health Connect messaging, Telephone calls assist/routing via ACD phone systems.

Grade 3

Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
