Position Summary:
Coordinates, plans, organizes implements and monitors nursing care of the adult, pediatric and neonatal patient as applicable in accordance with departmental philosophy and objectives. Assist in the interviewing potential new hires and orientation of staff. Facilitates communication and continuity of care for patients, accepting accountability for daily operations of their respective units when on duty. When delivering patient care 1) provides high quality, safe, cost effective, total nursing care to all patients utilizing the nursing process 2) assumes the responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on need of the patient and family members 3) directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, infection control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided 4) utilized evidence-based practice in accordance with professional standards and adheres to the Florida State Nurse Practice Act 5) reviewed orders/test results and documents care delivered accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
EDUCATION:
• Minimum: Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Preferred: BSN
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum: 1 year nursing experience in unit of expertise
• Preferred: Management experience preferred
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
• Registered Nurse - licensed in the State of Florida
• American Heart Association PALS, BLS, NRP certification
