2026 Summer InternLocation:
This role is scheduled to be 100% remote. While remote, finalists MUST reside in one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, OR, WA, HI, CO, GA, MD, VA, CT, DC, or IL.
Department Details:
Internal Audit Services (IAS) provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services that improve Kaiser Permanente-s operations and controls. Using a risk-based, systematic approach, IAS evaluates and enhances the effectiveness of risk management, internal control, and governance processes. IAS develops and executes the annual audit plan, partners across risk units to coordinate coverage, reports results to the Audit & Compliance Committee, and follows the IIA Standards and Code of Ethics. Our focus is to do the right work, partner with stakeholders, and add value by identifying meaningful risks, practical solutions, and measurable impact.
Internship Projects:
This internship will be with the Care Delivery Operations portfolio, which includes Care Delivery, KP School of Medicine, Pharmacy, MSA/MOU, Research, MHS, and Service Area. This portfolio includes audits and covers areas where patient care is provided, typically at the hospital and medical office buildings. The intern will be responsible for supporting audit projects in various stages (planning, testing, reporting). This may include onsite visits to facilities across all markets. In this role, responsibilities may include research, observations, participating in walkthroughs, sample testing, and report writing.

- Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.
- Report development and analytics.
- Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.
- Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.
- Job shadowing in other functional areas.
- Performing additional duties as required.

- Pursuing a bachelors degree or have graduated from an accredited university within the last year.

Additional Requirements:
- Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3.0 GPA or above.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.

Pay Range: $21 - $29.82 / hour Kaiser Permanente is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted pay range is based on possible base salaries for the role and does not include the value of our total rewards package. Actual pay determined at offer will be based on years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills and geographic location along with a review of current employees in similar roles to ensure that pay equity is achieved and maintained across Kaiser Permanente. Travel: No Flexible: Work location is on-site at a KP location, with the flexibility to work from home. Worker location must align with Kaiser Permanente's Authorized States policy.
