- Knowledgeable in surgical procedures and instrumentation
- Able to operate equipment and instruments in all services
- Performs duties using sterile technique.
- Re-opens emergently.
- Maintains the sterile field
- Has all necessary supplies and instruments available.
- Opens with circulators, sets up quickly in organized fashion.
- At end of cases, transports instruments to decomtam, protecting delicate instruments and assisting in turnover.
- All drugs placed on field are labeled clearly.
- Participates in "time-out" procedure consistently.
- Maintains CPR certification and continuing education requirements for re-certification.
- Pays close attention to progress of case, anticipates surgeon's needs.
- Communicates with circulator, verifies specimens.
- Remains professional with staff, patients and physicians.
Part Time, Rotate
Up to $5,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.
Position Summary
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Tech II prepares the Operating Room for the assigned surgical case. Delivers medical/surgical supplies, instrumentation and equipment, as requested by the surgeon, during the procedure.
Certifications:
- Current BLS certification approved by the American Heart Association
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist.
* Required certifications must be obtained within 3 months of hire*
