- Models, re-enforces and monitors care standards and makes recommendations for changes, creates implantation and evaluation plan
- Collaborates with nursing staff in assessing patient, family and age specific nursing needs and develops place of care for complex high risk patients
- Designs teaching programs for patients/families and provides assistance to nursing staff in program implementation.
- In coordination with Clinical Educators, implements education programs to ensure the quality of staff knowledge and skills. Introduces new techniques/innovation based on advanced practice trends
- Provides consultation to physicians, nurses and other health care providers in meeting care needs of individual groups of patients
- Performs related duties as required.
The Clinical Practice Specialist serves as the expert for nursing practice in assigned department/unit/service line. The Clinical Practice Specialist is responsible for helping create and promote a culture that promotes quality patient care and service excellence. Utilizes and teaches evidence based practices to develop the clinical competence of bedside caregivers. This position will engage and motivate staff to achieve a culture of clinical excellence by coaching, teaching encouraging, demonstrating and role- modeling expected behavior of staff.
Required
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or enrolled in a BSN program required.
- Experience: Minimum three years of experience in acute hospital based nursing practice, in area of specialty.
- Certification:
- A valid Permanent Multi-State RN License from the state in which you reside is required
- Should you hold a RN license from another Compact state, you are required to apply for and obtain a Multi-State RN License from the state in which you reside within 30 days
- American Heart Association BLS CPR required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire
- American Heart Association ACLS is required within orientation period.
Preferred:
- Education: Clinical Masters in Nursing in areas of specialization or Clinical Education preferred
- Experience: Previous CNS and/or Clinical Educator experience and/or past supervisory experience preferred.
