Become a part of our caring community and help us put health firstHumana is seeking a highly motivated Counsel to join its Law Department. The successful candidate will provide legal support and guidance on matters related to Medicare Advantage Part C health plan operations.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Providing legal advice and support for Humana's Medicare Advantage lines of business;
- Providing legal support for delegate contracting, including drafting, reviewing, and advising on agreements with delegated entities to ensure compliance with applicable CMS and state requirements;
- Advising on CMS provider credentialing, and eligibility requirements;
- Providing legal support for provider quality investigations and Humana Peer Review Committee activities;
- Supporting Medicare product development and operations, including benefit design and administration, licensure, bid development, and product filings; and
- Collaborating and consulting with leaders throughout the company in order to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and protection against external risk.

Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in applicable jurisdiction.
- Knowledge of CMS regulations, Medicare Advantage, or healthcare provider requirements.
- Experience in health law, contract drafting and negotiations, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$138,900 - $191,000 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
