Job Summary
Per Diem, Rotate
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Medical Director and the Director of Special Diagnostics, performs technical duties required in a variety of echocardiographic procedures. Operates imaging equipment in compliance with manufacture specifications. Follows protocols for Imaging physician ordered exams. Obtains optimum diagnostic imaging of the heart to aid in diagnosis or progress of disease. Participates in the quality, process and performance improvement initiatives as requested
Responsibilities
- The Diagnostic Echocardiography Technician is responsible for following established departmental protocols and providing the Cardiologist with the best possible images for interpretation while maintaining the highest level of patient care and assessment.
- He or she coordinates the intradepartmental communications to ensure that exams are completed in a timely and efficient manner, in compliance to established turnaround time standards.
- Assists as needed with interdepartmental process improvement plans and ensures that data is collected for monthly and quarterly reports.
- Ensures quality of care and the best possible patient outcome
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology Program or minimum education required for credentials as listed below.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years experience preferred in ultrasound imaging
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
- Registered in ECHO by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Cardiovascular Credentialing International
- American Heart Association BLS certification
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic computer skills
