General Functions:
- Performs diagnostic procedures and all other functions required of an ECHO Tech II
- Ensures completion of all assignments and delegate appropriately.
- Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
- Ensures compliance with quality assurance logs with proper documentation.
- Recommends improvement in department or facility processes that will decrease the potential for adverse outcomes.
- Maintains safe environment
- Addresses patient population-specific needs
- Assists with report generation and information retrieval.
- Performs daily billing and charge functions as required, recognizing errors
- Schedules appropriate staffing level for the department workload to maintain the staffing targets
- Ensures all equipment is functioning properly.
- Ensures that all required log and/or QA reports are completed
This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides direct supervision of department staff, and monitors assignments and productivity for the assigned unit. Duties include overseeing staff to ensure efficient workflow and optimal operations; maintain adequate supplies, adhere to all quality and patient care standards, interviews, hires and trains staff. Provides non-invasive testing/care to patients. Performs echocardiograms including but not limited to M-Mode, 2-Dimensional, convention and /or color flow Doppler and TEE Echocardiogram. Performs pediatric
Echocardiogram and maintains current registry in either ARDMA or CCI. Provides electrocardiograms and 24-hour holter monitorhook-ups. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of ultrasound or echocardiography
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associates Degree in Cardiovascular Technology
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years experience in Cardiology
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year of supervisory or lead experience
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ARDMS and/or CCI Registration, EKG
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life
Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of
hire.
