This position is National Remote. This position is full time Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm CST.
We offer 3 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information
- Processes release of information (ROI) requests
- Manages requests for documentation and information
- Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record
- Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems
- May train and mentor co-workers
- Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements
- Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability
- Work with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 1+ years of customer service experience within a hospital or healthcare environment
- 1+ years of Health Information Management (HIM) or Release of Information (ROI) experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm CST
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of customer service experience
- RHIT or RHIA certification
- EPIC experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Health Information Management (HIM) experience
- Clerical or administrative support background
- Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
- Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
- Experience working in a call center
- Experience communicating with patients & staff with various educational & socio-economic backgrounds
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.74 - $31.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
