- Abstract moderate to highly complex clinical data using established definitions and guidelines and maintain an abstracting volume to meet internal and external reporting deadlines.
- Perform clinical review of a medical record and summarize the findings to facilitate additional review.
- Conducts analysis of data in cooperation with the medical staff to assist in identification of improvement activities.
- Understands current issues, practices and trends in healthcare.
- Provides documented reports of findings from data collection as requested.
Position Summary
Supports clinical performance through abstraction, review, and reporting of medical record clinical documentation and billing assessment, to support initiatives related to quality improvement, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.

- Minimum Requirements
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience working as a RHIT or an RN in a physician practice.
- Education: Associate degree in Health Information Management or Registered Nursing program.
- Certifications: RHIT or RN in applicable state
- Preferred Requirements
- Experience: Two to three years inpatient coding experience (i.e. ICD-10, CPT, and DRG). Prior experience with clinical chart review and abstraction.
