- Adhere to and support the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources, as well as the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
- Demonstrate support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies, and reporting compliance issues in a timely manner.
- Assist in the assessment of patient needs and health plan by taking vital signs, history, medication listing, assessing visual acuity, and determining the chief complaint; assess patients' physical and mental status.
- Complete all necessary documentation in the patient's medical record in accordance with the practice's charting policy.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians with medical treatments, exams, and medical procedures.
- Administer prescribed oral medications and injections (intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal); perform venipunctures, CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA Waived lab testing.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients and visitors, including cleaning, sterilizing, and storing instruments, stocking rooms, and taking inventory of supplies.
- Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood, potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, and other hazardous substances.
- Arrange for specialized consultations and appointments for testing as ordered by the physicians, including notifying insurance personnel for required pre-certifications of surgeries or tests.
- Assist in other functions of the physician practice as needed, including answering office phones, assisting the front desk with scheduling appointments, directing calls appropriately, checking out patients, and assisting with referral processing.
$1000 Sign On Bonus
A non-exempt medical office position responsible for providing direct nursing care in a medical office setting under the direction of a physician, assists medical providers, and maintains a clean and safe environment in accordance with the policies and procedures of the practice.
Education: HS diploma, GED with completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program or three or more years of relevant work experience
Certification: Medical Assistant preferred and CPR certification
Experience: Must have a minimum of one year of experience working in a physician office or three years' experience in lieu of accredited MA program
