Job Summary
The Nurse Extern works under the direct supervision of a licensed registered nurse to assist with patient care tasks, reinforce nursing skills, and gain exposure to hospital systems and interdisciplinary teamwork. This paid position provides an exceptional opportunity to build confidence, competence, and professional connections before graduation.
Responsibilities
- Assist with vital signs, hygiene, and mobility
- Support RNs with patient care and documentation
- Learn time management, prioritization, and teamwork in a hospital setting
- Observe and participate in a variety of clinical procedures
- Contribute to a compassionate, respectful, and inclusive care environment
Qualifications
- Special Skills
- Be available to work two shifts per week
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for learning and patient-centered care
- Minimum Requirements
- Experience: Completion of at least two clinical semesters with graduation before January 15, 2026
- Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Certification: BLS
