Job Summary
The Patient Care Tech I assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists with personal hygiene, takes vital signs, and changes bed linens. May serve and collect food trays, provide for between-meal nourishment, and clean, sterilize, store, and prepare other supplies. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
- Required- High School Diploma or GED
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- Required-None
- Preferred-Acute care and/or previous clinical experience
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
- if American Red Cross, must obtain American Heart Association within 60-days of hire
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification within 90-days of hire/transfer
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES:
- Preferred: Prior basic experience performing clerical or customer service duties with prior HUC training/experience in a clinical setting
- Ability to use computer driven patient care equipment
