Growing together.The Clinical Pharmacy Manager (In-Patient) is responsible in planning, organizing, control, and supervising clinical activities in hospital pharmacy according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and State and Federal laws. Recommends innovations in the practice and function of the hospital pharmacy to Administration and carries out mutually agreed upon programs
Working Schedule: Ability to commit to a 32 hour workweek during standard operating business hours, 4 days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, as assigned from 7:00AM - 4:00PM. It may be necessary, given the business need to work weekends, holidays, and/or overtime. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours and available for on-call.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of clinical pharmacy services, treatment guidelines, protocols, and formulary initiatives
- Ensure safe, appropriate, and cost effective medication therapy through clinical review, therapeutic recommendations, and monitoring for interactions, allergies, and dosing accuracy
- Provide clinical consultation and drug information to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Supervise, train, and evaluate pharmacists, residents, students, and other pharmacy staff; maintain competency programs and staff development
- Oversee pharmacoeconomic assessments, drug utilization reviews, medication use evaluations, surveillance programs, and adverse drug reaction reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation of clinical interventions, medication use activities, and departmental data reporting
- Direct pharmacy operations by guiding workflow, providing professional and technical support, and assisting with routine duties when needed
- Participate in interdisciplinary patient rounds and support development of clinical pathways, disease management plans, and patient care initiatives
- Serve as a key member of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and other hospital committees, preparing and presenting required reports
- Develop and maintain drug information resources, including educational programs and communication tools such as newsletters
- Ensure regulatory compliance with hospital policies, state and federal requirements, and accreditation standards
- Support department planning, policy development, and implementation of new programs, services, and quality improvement initiatives
- Promote effective communication, teamwork, professionalism, and patient advocacy across all pharmacy and clinical interactions
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries or concerns and maintain confidentiality in all patient care matters
- Assist with budget planning, cost control strategies, resource allocation, and maintaining accurate charging processes
- Evaluate new services or service modifications to meet patient needs and optimize revenue opportunities
- Participate in hospital committees, projects, professional organizations, and community education efforts
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
- Current pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy
- Completion of a 1-year pharmacy practice residency, specialty residency, or fellowship
- 1+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Manager or leadership role
- Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) in Spanish/English
- Problem solving and analytical thinking ability

Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent work experience as a Pharmacy Manager in a hospital or in-patient setting.
Working Conditions:
- Hospital in-patient setting with both clinical and administrative tasks
- Includes on-call availability on Wednesdays and Weekends as per operational needs
