Job Summary
A non-exempt medical office position responsible for coordinating and managing all processes of the front office
Responsibilities
- Adheres to the mission, purpose, and policies of Tenet Physician Resources, including the HIPAA Compliance Plan and Privacy Standards.
- Demonstrates support for the Corporate Compliance Program by following the Code of Conduct and reporting compliance issues in a timely manner.
- Greets patients and answers office phones to manage appointments and basic office-related tasks.
- Checks in patients, collects and enters accurate demographics into the electronic system, and verifies insurance.
- Coordinates daily operations, including the medical records process, front desk control, and office supplies.
- Manages physician surgical schedules as well as other business-related appointments.
- Assists with checking out patients, including referral processing and the scheduling process.
- Collects co-pays, posts charges, and handles charge entry and patient balance processing.
- Performs daily reconciliation of charges and payments while monitoring and auditing cash/payment funds.
- Confirms appointments and performs additional clinical or administrative responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma/GED required with completion medical office assistant program preferred.
Certification: Prefer healthcare management/administration certification.
Experience: Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a medical office setting.
