Description
Job Summary:Conducts activities and coordinates with Radiology Clinical Managers and Supervisors in the Colorado region to insure compliance with regulatory and radiology accrediting agency requirements. Manages quality assurance activities within the imaging areas. Accountable for creating a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Maintains knowledge of and assures departmental compliance with Kaiser Permanentes Principles of Responsibility and policies and procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Responds appropriately, including required reporting, to observed fraud or abuse.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Coordinates quality management activities for radiology, including development of QI/QA programs and provides technical, educational, and consultative support. Works with radiology Clinical Managers in the design of procedures, policies and programs to insure compliance with regulatory agencies, quality of care, and patient and employee safety. Responsible for oversight of the radiology QA reporting system. Monitors, tracks and reports QA/QI activities. Assists in the coordination of departmental quality programs to insure system wide consistency. Responsible for follow up of significant events identified by the CPMG Quality Resource Management Committee. Compiles variance log and proficiency testing summaries, and assists in the development of the annual SQRMC report.
- Participates in the Radiation Safety Committee. Co-Chairs the Radiology Quality Assurance Committee in partnership with CPMG. Serves as a Radiology liaison with other KP departments, i.e. Risk management, Compliance, as related to quality, patient safety and compliance.
- Analyzes and defines current status and specific requirements of radiology licensing and accreditation agencies. Oversees the implementation of the competency assessment program. Assists in corrective action, discipline and accountability to make improvements.
- Uses process improvement tools, i.e. Lean/6 Sigma, RIM toward process and quality improvement. Promotes use of PI tools throughout the radiology departments. Writes, implements and insures compliance with the Radiology Compliance Tool Kit. Provides direct training to staff and follows the corrective action process.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as a radiologic technologist.
Education
- Bachelors degree in medical technology, radiology sciences OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
- Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Additional Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with radiology accreditation, compliance policies and procedures as well as radiology coding strongly.
Teaching experience preferred
Reports safety, quality, or competency issues to manager.

Pay Range: $99200 - $128370 / year Kaiser Permanente is committed to pay equity and transparency.
