Organizes daily activities to eliminate unnecessary disruption of managers/director's workday and to
facilitate smooth office operations/activities
Acts as a liaison between manager/director and other staff members, vendors, physicians, patients
and patients' family members
Communicates effectively and appropriately with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and
patients' family members
Maintains accurate appointment/meeting calendar
Assists in planning/preparing for departmental meetings; takes and prepares minutes
Prepares in final format correspondence such as memorandums, letters, reports, policies, procedures,
etc.
Screens telephone calls and handles appropriately
Maintains an orderly, up-to-date filing system and is able to readily retrieve documents
Assists other managers/directors during the absence of their secretarial support person
Performs general office duties such as handling incoming/outgoing correspondence, prioritizing in
order of urgency/importance to facilitate processing; order supplies, publications; subscription

POSITION SUMMARY
The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care to patients. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited AMA Respiratory Care Program
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Some experience in respiratory care or related area
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current RCP State of Texas License, Possession of current CRT or RRT Certification from NBRC Renewal required every 5 years unless grandfathered prior to July 1, 2002)
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current RCP State of Texas License, Possession of current CRT / RRT Certification from NBRC Renewal required every 5 years unless grandfathered prior to July 1, 2002)
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role.
AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role if covering Pedi.
AHA NRP must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role if covering NICU.
