Description
Become a part of our caring community and help us put health firstWe are seeking a health care attorney with expertise in PBM and pharmacy operations and contract structuring. This Senior Counsel role is responsible for providing counsel on a wide range of matters related to PBM and pharmacy services, including regulatory compliance; contract drafting, negotiation, and management; and risk management.
This position will focus on supporting Humana's internal pharmacy benefit manager and pharmacy in the following areas:
- Provide legal support for strategic initiatives, including contract negotiations with pharmaceutical manufacturers and ERISA self-funded employee welfare benefit plans.
- Provide legal guidance on federal and state regulatory compliance.
- Advise on risk exposure, mitigation strategies, and legal implications of commercial initiatives.
- Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory changes.
- Support audits, investigations, and responses to regulatory inquiries.

Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited school law school
- 6+ years of legal experience in the health care industry
- Active membership in a state bar association
- Strong contract drafting and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and in team settings
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep expertise negotiating PBM contracts
- Knowledgeable about pharmacy laws and the pharmaceutical supply chain
Location
- This is a remote, nationwide role; however, the team operates on an Easter Time (ET) hours.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$168,000 - $231,000 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
