Description
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health & Benefits team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role will be based in Nashville and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.As a Senior Health & Benefits Consulting Analyst, you will work closely with the team in the strategy, design, implementation, and administration of client companies' health and welfare programs. Managing the RFP process, crafting client communications, and collaborating with internal teams and external carriers will be key to driving successful outcomes. This is great opportunity to build strong client relationships while gaining deep expertise in health and group benefits!
We will count on you to:
- Support the consulting team by gathering, organizing, entering, and analyzing data in Excel for client projects, with an emphasis on results analysis and project management.
- Collect and interpret vendor utilization and rate data via RFPs, summarizing findings in Excel or PowerPoint for client presentations.
- Develop cost projections and vendor renewal evaluations to inform client meetings.
- Manage the quality and timeliness of client deliverables, assist with budget and billing reports, participate in client and vendor calls, prepare clear communications, and resolve most issues, escalating complex matters as needed.
- Gather and validate client and vendor plan design data for healthcare plan consolidation or marketing impact analysis, ensuring data accuracy and following up on discrepancies.
- Build foundational knowledge of products, services, vendor markets, underwriting, financial skills, and technical tools through training, online courses, and mentorship.
What you need to have:
- 1-3 years of health industry or HR experience
- Exceptional project management skills
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Capacity to multitask, manage competing priorities with strong time management skills
- Strong business acumen paired with intellectual curiosity
- Ability to exercise independent thinking
- Ability to work at a fast pace, both independently and in a team environment
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
