Job Summary
Performs direct and indirect patient care in the Perioperative setting and assists in the maintenance of a safe, clean environment working under the direction of charge nurse (RN) and OR staff. Position performs activities related to transportation of patients as directed. Collaborates with nursing staff to provide timely room turnovers and maintain OR daily schedule. Reviews order and stock supplies and assists in other areas as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform terminal cleaning of the operating room and prepares rooms for new patients.
- Cleans and re-makes patient stretchers and beds and responsible for assigned areas for restocking and cleanliness.
- Participates in OR suite turnovers between cases. Delivers specimens, labs, blood to and from OR. Transport patients as directed by a nurse.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required per policy.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Must be able to work under deadlines. Must be able to utilize independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of situations. Requires a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities. Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers. Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
- Minimum Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
- Certifications: CPR
- Preferred Requirements
- Experience: One-year clinical experience, preferably in Operating Room setting.
