- Obtains patient data before procedure-history, DOB, age, history.
- Usually explains procedure to be performed; facilitates patient's cooperation and alleviates anxiety.
- Transfers patient to exam table and ensures proper covering of patient according to policy and procedure.
- Arranges, attaches, or adjusts immobilization and support devices according to procedure, ensuring limitation of patient movement.
- Assesses patient's condition & determines proper breathing instructions (utilizing it properly), exposure factors.
- Performs related duties as required.
***$20,000 Sign-on Bonus (Paid over 2 years)***
The position exists to provide ultrasound examinations for patients of all ages. Ultrasonographers provide patient care services using ultrasound imaging modalities. This includes assessing patient condition, operating ultrasound equipment, proficiency in PACS, preparing examination rooms, and maintaining equipment, supplies and medications. Ultrasonographers are also required to maintain necessary patient records and participate in the departmental Performance Improvement program. Ultrasonographers also function as clinical instructors for students enrolled in the Radiologic Technology and ultrasound programs. Night and weekend call is required.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
- Experience: Must have a working knowledge of ultrasound procedures achieved through advanced training.
- Licensure/Certification:
- RDMS with a minimum of one modality within the first year of employment.
- American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.
- Preferred:
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of job-related experience is preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: RVT certification is preferred
