Job Summary
Utilize high frequency sound waves to produce vascular ultrasound images and related data used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis and perform the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Adheres to the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
- Adheres to the HIPAA Compliance Plan, Privacy Standards, and Corporate Compliance Program Code of Conduct.
- Sets up equipment and prepares patients for examination.
- Selects the proper transducer (type and frequency) for each examination.
- Obtains and reviews pertinent patient history and clinical data to facilitate diagnosis.
- Performs diagnostic procedures by producing and evaluating ultrasound images in accordance with protocols.
- Provides the physician with an oral or written summary of technical findings.
- Completes paperwork and coding accurately for billing, including log sheets and authorizations.
- Ensures patient safety and maintains/cleans equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
- Manages testing supplies and assists with other clinical functions as directed.
Qualifications
Education: AA Degree required
Experience: 1 year clinical setting
Certifications: ARDMS, BLS, and RVT; OR Registry Eligible with registration required within 12 months; ICVAL preferred
