2026 Summer InternLocation:
This internship role is scheduled to be flexible. Please be prepared to spend part of your time working remotely and part of your time working from the following location: Walnut Center, 393 Walnut St, Pasadena 91188.

Internship Projects:
Primarily, but not limited to the following initiatives:
Get Care Now - Kaiser Permanente-s enterprise on-demand virtual care service on kp.org. It lets members get immediate care from a clinician by phone or video, without scheduling an appointment, 24/7.
E visits - a secure, asynchronous online care option on kp.org that lets members answer a structured medical questionnaire about common symptoms and receive clinical guidance and treatment without scheduling an appointment. The member submits information, and a Kaiser Permanente clinician reviews it and responds through kp.org.
KP.org Appointment Center Booking - the secure online scheduling feature on kp.org that allows Kaiser Permanente members to book, view, change, or cancel appointments without calling the Appointment Center. It is the digital front door for appointment scheduling and complements the phone-based Appointment Center.
KP.org Message Center - Kaiser Permanente-s secure online messaging hub for members. It lives on kp.org and is used for non-urgent communication between members and Kaiser Permanente care teams and Member Services. In short: it-s where members send, receive, and manage secure messages instead of calling or emailing.

Target Skillset:
We are seeking an intern who demonstrates strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and the ability to synthesize information into clear insights. Given our focus on digital interface and self-service strategy in a healthcare environment, ideal skills include:
Digital & Technical Curiosity - Interest in digital platforms, user experience (UX), consumer journey mapping, and healthcare technology.
Structured Thinking - Can break down ambiguous problems into logical components and communicate conclusions clearly.
Communication Skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to draft concise summaries.
Collaboration & Professionalism - Works effectively in team settings, receptive to feedback, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Self-Starter Mentality - Takes initiative, asks thoughtful questions, and demonstrates ownership of assigned work.
Attention to Detail - Produces accurate, high-quality deliverables.
Exposure to healthcare, digital transformation initiatives, or consulting environments.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills - Ability to review data, identify patterns, and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Comfort working in Excel or similar tools is preferred.
Experience with PowerPoint, process flows or journey mapping
Job Summary:
This position provides analytical support to a project or department. Under the guidance of a Project Manager/ Director, responsible for collecting and researching data, performing analysis, providing recommendations and presenting results.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for contributing high level analytical support to a project or department requiring application of knowledge in marketing, information management, finance, management, economics or statistics.
- This position contributes to a full range of project components.
- Assigned to at least one project and expected to produce results and report out as a member of a project team.
- Organizes assigned project tasks, identifies and structures information collection activities, and sets timelines for completion of required tasks as directed.
- Develops tools to identify and to document best practices.
- Prepares various excel, word or PowerPoint reports, and works with access database software (or similar tool) to develop data extracts and management information reports.
- May be asked to produce graphic information using excel or PowerPoint or similar software.
- Contributes to development of management information and analysis conducted, provides recommendations and assists with preparation of formal presentations to communicate results to various management levels. Identifies alternative solutions to project issues.
- Contributes to development project plans to ensure timely deliverables and successful completion of project and demonstrates an understanding of various business intersections.
- Assists with identification and development of training information.

- Enrolled in or recent graduate of a MBA or other Masters level program with an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of SQL or SAS highly desirable.

Pay Range: $31.05 - $40.13 / hour Kaiser Permanente is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted pay range is based on possible base salaries for the role and does not include the value of our total rewards package. Actual pay determined at offer will be based on years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills and geographic location along with a review of current employees in similar roles to ensure that pay equity is achieved and maintained across Kaiser Permanente. Travel: Yes, 25 % of the Time Flexible: Work location is on-site at a KP location, with the flexibility to work from home.
