Job Summary
This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus
The Registered Nurse renders professional nursing care to patients assigned in the Women's Center / Pediatric Area, in support of medical care as directed by medical staff and pursuant to objectives and policies of the hospital. Work encompasses direct and indirect care, patient care, and collaboration with other disciplines involved in the provision of care.
Responsibilities

- Enhances professional growth & development through participation in educational offerings.
- Complies with all applicable statutes, rules, & regulations, policies & procedures, and Corporate Ethics Program.
- Demonstrates competency through accurately assessing and effectively addressing patient needs.
- Demonstrates competency by utilizing technical and critical thinking skills in performing various care interventions.
- Demonstrates competency in correctly utilizing various tools / equipment used in patient care.
- Demonstrates competency in the multidisciplinary collaboration in the provision of care.
- Demonstrates competency in maintaining a safe patient environment.
- Demonstrates competency in performing his/her role in the event of an emergency.
- Demonstrates competency in correctly administering and maintaining fluid/volume replacement measures.
- Demonstrates competency in the correct administration of medications and treatments.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to the following psychosocial considerations:
- emotional reactions of mother
- symbiotic relationships and mother-infant bonding
- family integration & relationship with significant other
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing
Minimum Experience: RN with minimum of 1 year Nursing experience required
Required Certification: BLS & NRP Required; ACLS preferred - must have within 3 months of hire
Required Licensure: Valid Texas RN license

Nacogdoches Medical Center has been serving the East Texas community for nearly 50 yearswith a focus on caring for patients and a strong team environment.
