Become a part of our caring communityThe Transformation + Strategic Initiatives Communications Lead develops and executes strategic communications for major business initiatives, organizational changes, executive priorities, and cross-functional efforts across the Insurance Segment.
This role serves as a senior communications partner and change communications capability owner, helping leaders communicate through transformation and change. The position partners with business, project, HR, and communications stakeholders to support associate engagement, leadership alignment, organizational understanding, and business objectives. The role requires strong strategic communications expertise, exceptional writing and messaging skills, executive presence, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic communications plans supporting major business initiatives, organizational changes, enterprise programs, and Insurance Segment priorities
- Provide strategic communications counsel to leaders supporting complex, high-visibility, or sensitive business initiatives and organizational changes
- Develop executive-level communications materials including presentations, talking points, leadership messaging, communication plans, FAQs, organizational announcements, and associate engagement content
- Partner with business leaders, project teams, HR partners, and communications stakeholders to understand communication needs, audience considerations, implementation timelines, and business objectives
- Lead communications planning and coordination for major strategic initiatives and transformation efforts, ensuring communications are aligned, integrated, audience-focused, and supportive of business goals
- Collaborate across the communications team to ensure initiative communications are integrated into broader business narratives, leadership messaging, and segment priorities
- Identify communication risks, message gaps, and opportunities to improve communication effectiveness across major initiatives
- Establish and maintain change communications approaches, tools, and best practices that can be leveraged across the Insurance Segment
- Support town halls, leadership meetings, strategic initiatives, and high-priority communications efforts across the Insurance Segment as needed
- Serve as a flexible strategic communications resource capable of supporting evolving business needs and enterprise priorities

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of strategic communications, internal communications, executive communications, organizational communications, or related experience
- 3+ years supporting large-scale business initiatives, organizational change communications, enterprise programs, or cross-functional strategic efforts
- 3+ years developing executive-level communications materials including presentations, talking points, leadership messaging, communication plans, and organizational announcements
- Experience managing multiple communications initiatives within a complex, matrixed organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting transformation initiatives, business modernization efforts, restructures, or enterprise-wide change efforts
- Experience supporting senior executives and leadership teams
- Experience within healthcare, insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industries
- Experience within large, complex organizations or Fortune 500 environments
- Agency, consulting, or corporate communications experience
- Experience supporting town halls, leadership meetings, strategic initiatives, or executive engagement efforts
Additional information:
In this role you will report to the Director, Corporate Communications.
In this role you will have up to 10% travel based on business need.
In this role you will be an individual contributor.
This role is remote within the US.
Work at Home Requirements To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information. Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$115,200 - $158,400 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
