Job Summary
Echo Tech/Vascular Tech Multimodality
***$10,000 Sign-on Bonus (Paid over 2 Years)***
The Echo Tech uses high frequency sound waves (ultrasound), and other noninvasive echocardiography testing equipment, to produce images of the heart. These procedures require specialized knowledge and skills in support of the provision of diagnostic and/or therapeutic services to a specified patient population.
Responsibilities
- Adheres to the mission, purpose, philosophy, and policies of Tenet Physician Resources, including the HIPAA Compliance Plan and Privacy Standards.
- Demonstrates support for the Corporate Compliance Program by following the Code of Conduct and reporting issues or concerns in a timely manner.
- Sets up equipment and prepares patients for examinations, ensuring patient safety by following company procedures and protocols.
- Selects the proper transducer type and frequency and moves equipment/machines as needed for testing purposes.
- Obtains and reviews pertinent patient history, physical exams, and clinical data to facilitate physician diagnosis.
- Performs diagnostic procedures by producing and evaluating ultrasound images in accordance with organization and site protocols.
- Provides interpreting physicians with oral or written summaries of technical findings at their discretion.
- Maintains and cleans equipment per manufacturer guidelines and reports any difficulties or failures immediately.
- Completes all paperwork and billing requisitions accurately, including obtaining proper exam orders, diagnoses, and patient signatures.
- Maintains supplies for testing sites and assists with other clinical functions as directed.
Qualifications Education: High school diploma/GED and a successful completion of an Ultrasound Tech program.
Certification: Certification from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) required or registry eligible with registration required within 12 months. BLS certification required.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year experience in a clinical setting required; two years preferred
