Job SummaryThe Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN) assumes responsibility for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse per the scope defined by the state-specific Board of Nursing.
Responsibilities
The LVN/LPN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective nursing care to patients within their scope of practice. The LVN/LPN collaborates with RNs and the healthcare team to ensure the coordination and integration of patient care based on established care plans. The LVN/LPN supports care delivery according to standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement (QI), and infection control, with the goal of assisting in the discharge of patients with an optimum level of care provided.
Qualifications
Education:
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of vocational or practical nursing.
Experience:
Preferred: 1 year of experience.
Certification:
Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
