Job Summary
$5000 Sign On Bonus
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures ordered by a physician to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. Positions and instructs the patient for Nuclear Medicine examinations, adjusts the imaging equipment, determines proper dosage and desired exposure time for each image following the proper guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures in accordance with established standards and physician orders.
- Verifies physician orders and checks patient history for allergies or previous contrast studies.
- Assesses patients and familiarizes them with procedures while respecting privacy.
- Consults with Physician for all IV contrast exams and utilizes sterile technique to fill syringes.
- Operates and warms equipment following protocols, checking for malfunctions and notifying supervisors.
- Utilizes proper exposure factors to perform exams according to established protocols.
- Ensures emergency drugs and code carts are immediately available.
- Cleans and maintains aprons, cassettes, and general work areas.
- Monitors equipment and environment to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Documents procedural details and patient responses in accordance with policy.
Qualifications
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine
- NMTCB/CNMT Certification or ARRT in Nuclear Medicine Certification required
- EMR/EHR experience preferred, NextGen or Athena experience preferred
- Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required
