Job Summary
Under the direction/supervision of RN, provides basic and intermediate nursing care for assigned groups of patients based on competence. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. Models' professional behavior while demonstrating knowledge, skills, and a positive attitude. This includes the ability to provide patient-centered care, teamwork and collaboration, evidence-based practice, and quality improvements.
Responsibilities
- Ability to verbally communicate in an effective and positive manner with patient/family, public and other health care workers.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Assists and or provides patients with personal care, activities of daily living and other basic needs under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- Observes and reports patient condition or behavior changes to the Registered Nurse
- Assists with delegated procedures under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Education: Proof of current enrollment in an accredited nursing program and has completed one semester of clinical education in an RN program
- Licensure/Certifications:
- BLS
- CPI - CPI must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer to this position. Must complete CPI training before working in the role of constant observer.
