Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) Trainee provides specific nursing assistant related duties, under the direction of an RN or LPN, while completing training and competency development necessary to perform in the role of a PCT including, but not limited to, bathing patients, transporting patients, food devliery, call light response, acting as a constant observer, etc.
Responsibilities
- Prepare/clean room for new admission
- Clean equipment per infection control policy
- Tranport patients throughout the hospital
- Act as a constant observer for behavioral or fall risk patients
- Act as a unit secretary as necessary
- Use sterile technique when necessary (inserting urinary catheters, assisting with procedures, etc.)
- Obtain weight using standing, sling, bed, or chair scale
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
- Certifications: BLS (will obtain after hire as applicable for assignment)
- Preferred Requirements
- Experience: Previous healthcare experience preferred, but not required
