- The Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Hospitalist Program provides specialized, efficient and coordinated care for our hospitalized patients. The per diem hospitalist has the option to take daytime and/or nighttime shifts at any of the four hospitalist pods-Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, Fort Bend, Woodlands and Vintage.
- The main responsibilities during the daytime include rounding and coordinating care of already admitted patients. Some shifts may have admitting responsibilities from the ER in the assigned hospital from 7am to 7pm.
- The main responsibilities during the nighttime include responding to ER calls and admitting patients in the assigned hospital(s) from 7pm to 7am (number of shifts can be decided amongst the team to ensure coverage every night).
- The nocturnal hospitalist will be required to stay in house for the duration of the shift. They will be responsible for all calls regarding admissions to the assigned hospital.
- The hospitalists have the support from the critical care physicians and subspecialists.
- There is no requirement to perform any procedure.
- Expected to efficiently manage patients in hospital and interact with specialists to coordinate the care.
- Transition the follow up care to the daytime hospitalist safely and effectively.
- Participate in hospital committees, initiatives, and KSC Hospital Service/IM Department activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed in the State of Texas
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $125.00 to 186.86 per hour. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
