Job Summary
Position Summary
To produce quality radiographic examinations of the chest and distal extremities which are used in medical diagnosis and interpreted by radiologists and medical physicians to identify injuries, foreign bodies, pathological conditions or lesions within the body
Responsibilities
- Utilizes general operating procedures, i.e., start-up procedures, basic troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Ensures proper film identification to include date stickers, flashed patient identification and right/left markers. Ensures proper and fair charging of patient procedures in compliance with Model Compliance and Ethical guidelines. Ensure proper protocol for filing and copying of films.
- Positions patient to achieve best examination results and in depth knowledge of human anatomy. Explains the x-ray process to each patient prior to the examination.
- Sets up, adjusts and adapts equipment and procedure to accommodate the patient's condition to obtain reliable results.
- Utilizes safety techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and themselves and proficiency in delivery of patients, supplies, films, and reports.
- Ensures accountability and responsibility for verification of proper patient identification using patient armband.
- Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Graduation Certificate from JRCERT accredited PRT program.
- Experience: Clinical externship experience in an acute care facility.
- Licensure/Certifications: : Arizona Registered Practical Radiological Technologist (PRT). CPR required.
- Special Skills: Excellent customer service skills and team skills.
- Preferred Requirements:
- Experience: One year PRT level radiology experience.
