Job Summary
Responsible for the timely and efficient performance of selected physical rehabilitation duties as directed by and under the general supervision of the PT, PTA, OT, or OTA. Assists with patient care, transport, preparation for treatment, and routine cleaning and equipment tasks. Works with pediatric through geriatric patients and completes established competencies for the position within the introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Assists with dressing changes and with donning/doffing of orthopedic braces.
- Assists with transport of patients and schedules and prioritizes patient workload as assigned.
- Assists therapists and assistants with appropriate management of inventory of supplies; assures appropriate equipment performance prior to use.
- Performs regular cleaning responsibilities to include hydrotherapy areas; cleans treatment areas appropriately following patient care.
- Maintains linen supplies and ensures the area and equipment are prepared for treatment.
- Works with pediatric through geriatric patients under appropriate supervision.
- Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period.
- Performs cleaning of the area and equipment as outlined in the policy and procedure manual.
Qualifications
Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associate degree
Experience
Preferred: 6 months in healthcare setting
Certifications
Required: AHA BLS
