Growing together.This position provides advanced clinical oversight and coordination of surgical and endoscopy scheduling within the Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs). The Clinical RN Supervisor optimizes operating room utilization while preventing equipment, staffing, and resource conflicts. The role ensures all surgical cases are scheduled in compliance with clinical, staffing, and safety standards. As a licensed and experienced OR nurse, the supervisor serves as a liaison between the ASC and physician offices, promoting effective block time use and clear communication among surgeons, clinics, anesthesia providers, and perioperative teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Independently manages all aspects of surgical and endoscopy case scheduling within the ASCs
- Analyzes case length, staffing availability, supply/equipment needs, and anesthesia resources to optimize case placement and turnover
- Identifies and resolves equipment or scheduling conflicts before they impact surgical operations
- Actively monitors open block time and coordinates outreach to physicians and clinic schedulers to fill open capacity
- Leads scheduling meetings with ASC site-specific OR lead, anesthesia, and leadership as needed
- Maintains strong, collaborative relationships with surgeons and their office staff
- Acts as the primary point of contact for scheduling-related issues
- Assesses clinic needs and works proactively to align surgical scheduling with physician availability and patient needs
- Responds professionally and effectively in high-pressure situations, ensuring excellent customer service
- Educates clinic staff and physicians on scheduling protocols and documentation requirements
- Ensures efficient use of OR time, staff, and clinical resources
- Prevents scheduling of procedures without required equipment or trained staff
- Participates in review of resource utilization and block time effectiveness
- May assign daily tasks to unit clerks or other schedulers
- Provides backup scheduling support during peak times or staff absences
- Assists with onboarding and mentoring of new scheduling or unit clerk personnel
- Collaborates with OR leadership on workflow improvements
- Review and verify physician credentials and delineation of privileges related to procedures performed in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
- Ensures surgical scheduling adheres to all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and internal policies
- Promotes a culture of safety and compliance in scheduling processes
- Identifies and reports potential safety concerns or non-compliance
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives related to OR efficiency and scheduling accuracy
- Tracks scheduling errors or delays and implements corrective action
- Collaborates with Quality and Clinical Managers on case flow improvements
- Acts as a clinical resource to the ASC staff regarding surgical procedures and patient needs
- Demonstrates accountability in clinical decision-making related to scheduling
- Supports overall OR operations as needed based on scope of practice

Required Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN), Current license in Texas
- Active TX RN License
- 5+ years as an RN in a surgical setting (OR)
- Advanced clinical judgement, surgery scheduling knowledge, computer proficiency
- Proven solid communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience in ASC scheduling, OR clinical leadership
- Experience with surgery scheduling software (e.g. OR Manager, Cerner, Epic)
- Proven excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
