Job Summary:Drives adherence to appropriate protocols when performing radiologic/fluoroscopic examinations through overseeing the evaluation of a patients clinical history, ensuring patients are received and doubled identified, and implementing standard strategies for use when identifying factors that will result in optimum imaging for each patient. Implements an individualized and compassionate patient care atmosphere by implementing strategies to educate patients on relevant procedures, monitoring appropriate protocols for patient privacy and safety, and leading, coordinating, and developing strategies for addressing patient questions/concerns. Prioritizes patient and employee safety by ensuring compliance with all internal and external safety-related regulations, policies, and procedures, while adhering to and disseminating the most appropriate safety measures and instructions. Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the department by ensuring the preparation of departmental supplies and disposables for use in assigned areas while planning for opportunities for advancing access, service quality, and efficiency.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Creates and advocates for developmental opportunities for others; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships. Solicits and acts on performance feedback; works with leaders and employees to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement. Pursues professional growth; hires, trains, and develops talent for growth opportunities; strategically evaluates talent for succession planning; sets performance management guidelines and expectations across teams / units. Oversees implementation, adapts, and stays up to date with organizational change, challenges, feedback, best practices, processes, and industry trends; shares best practices within and across teams. Fosters open dialogue amongst team members, engages, motivates, and promotes collaboration within and across teams; motivates teams to meet business objectives. Delegates tasks and decisions as appropriate; provides appropriate support, guidance and scope; encourages development and consideration of options in decision making; fosters access to stakeholders.
- Manages designated units or teams by translating business plans into tactical action items; oversees the completion of work assignments and identifies opportunities for improvement; ensures all policies and procedures are followed; partners with key stakeholders and business leaders to ensure products and/or services meet requirements and expectations while aligning with departmental strategies. Aligns team efforts; builds accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; assumes responsibility for decision making; fosters direct reports to resolve escalated issues as appropriate. Communicates goals and objectives; incorporates resources, costs, and forecasts into team and unit plans; ensures matrixed resources are fulfilling service or performance requirements across reporting lines. Removes obstacles that impact performance; identifies and addresses improvement opportunities; guides performance and develops contingency plans accordingly; influences teams and units to operate in alignment with operational and business objectives.
- Implements an individualized and compassionate patient care atmosphere by: implementing strategies and providing guidance for personnel to educate patients on relevant procedures, ensuring effective communication, addressing patient questions/concerns, and modeling behavior to foster patient cooperation; evaluating the effectiveness of existing protocols for maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality; leading, coordinating, and developing strategies for teams or departments in addressing and handling escalated patient questions/concerns for service recovery; and identifying innovative opportunities for enhancing patient well-being and comfort throughout the duration of patient visits.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the department by: removing barriers related to the timely supply and preparation of departmental supplies for use in assigned areas, streamlining inventory management processes, and implementing efficient policies/protocols; leading cooperative initiatives with labor partners to drive improvements in quality, service, and safety while achieving cost savings across multiple departments or divisions within the organization; and planning for opportunities for advancing access, service quality, and efficiency through systemic strategic innovation and implementation.
- Prioritizes patient and employee safety by: facilitating and encouraging participation in programs that ensure compliance with all internal and external safety-related regulations, policies, and procedures (e.g., National Patient Safety Goals, As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) Principles); adhering to and disseminating the evolution of the most appropriate safety measures and instructions provided to patients, family members, and hospital staff as required; leading the implementation and enforcement of rules, regulations, and standards to improve quality of care, streamline operations, and mitigate risk across multiple departments or divisions within the organization; and implementing procedures and processes for resolving and/or escalating equipment malfunctions, accidents, and/or unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel.
- Drives adherence to appropriate protocols when performing radiologic/fluoroscopic examinations by: overseeing the evaluation of a patients clinical history with the exam to be performed, and the appropriateness of the alternatives recommended when contraindications are present; identifying and escalating opportunities for process improvements to the way in which patients are received and double identified using appropriate criteria; establishing procedures for the routine evaluation of the accuracy of data entered and stored in the Radiology Information System (RIS); leveraging an advanced understanding of the features and performance capabilities of the general radiology, fluoroscopy, and portable imaging systems and how it is integrated into the broader diagnostic process; implementing standard strategies for use when selecting the technical factors that will result in optimum imaging for each patient; and evaluating the feasibility of opportunities for improving the efficiency of patient processing and transportation before, during, and after the procedure.

- Minimum one (1) year of experience managing operational or project budgets.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.

Pay Range: $178200 - $230560 / year Kaiser Permanente is committed to pay equity and transparency.
