Take on this Senior Network Contract Manager role with UnitedHealth Group and you'll be part of a team that's reshaping how provider networks evolve and how health care works better for millions. As a Senior Network Contract Manager within our physician and practitioner network contracting team, you'll guide the development and support of Provider Networks as well as unit cost management activities through financial and network pricing modeling, analysis, and reporting. If you are located within a reasonable commute to North Carolina, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. 10-15% of expected travel in North Carolina for onsite meetings, provider visits, etc.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage unit cost budgets, target setting, performance reporting and associated financial models
- Guide development of the network and negotiate agreements with physicians, medical groups, and large health systems yielding a geographically competitive, broad access, stable network that achieves objectives for unit cost performance and trend management and
- Produces an affordable and predictable product for customers and business partners
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts in compliance with company templates, reimbursement structure standards and other key process controls
- Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues
- Work cross functionally to facilitate resolution of issues
- Position will support all contracts for all lines of business
- Mentoring of other network contract managers on the team

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a network management-related role handling complex network providers with accountability for business results
- 5+ years of experience in the health care industry
- 2+ years of experience with provider contracting including development of product pricing and utilizing financial modeling in making rate decisions
- Intermediate level of knowledge of Medicare Resource Based Relative Value System (RBRVS), performance-based compensation models, etc.
- Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Able and willing to travel up to 10% (onsite meetings, provider visits, etc.)
- Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver's license
- Reside in North Carolina or within a commutable distance
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience using financial models and analysis to negotiate rates with providers
- 2+ years of negotiation experience, with proven ability to drive favorable outcomes and build collaborative relationships
- Advanced competency of excel, including pivot tables

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
