Job Summary
This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.
Decontaminates, cleans and sterilizes equipment, instruments and supplies. Assembles and maintains inventories of surgical and floor trays. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
• Cleans, assembles, sterilizes and stores instruments and supplies
• Dispenses sterile instruments and supplies for the surgical case caret system, nursing units and other clinical areas
• Performs accurate biological testing and quality assurance monitors on designated sterilizers located within the facility
• Maintains supply and instrument storage areas, reporting shortages, checking shelf life, package integrity and reprocessing outdated or compromised items
• Identifies, assembles and wraps basic instrument sets
• Maintains accurate and meticulous logs and archives information relating to biological/chemical testing and sterilizer maintenance
• Serves as a role model for service excellence and commits to Studer Principles and "must haves"
• Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
• Maintains safe environment
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent
Experience:
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Experience in sterile processing or as a surgical technician
Certifications:
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Credentialed as a Certified Sterile Processing Technician
Must be certified within one (1) year from date of hire or transfer into position.
