Job Summary:The Epic Systems Analyst III supports the Patient Access and Hospital Operations Technologies organization by serving as a senior-level subject matter expert responsible for the analysis, design, configuration, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of Epic Prelude and related Patient Access applications, with secondary support for Grand Central workflows. This role evaluates complex operational and business requirements and translates them into scalable, efficient technology solutions that align with organizational objectives, Epic best practices, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Leveraging advanced analytical, technical, and workflow design expertise, the Epic Systems Analyst III leads and supports enterprise initiatives focused on patient registration, identity management, insurance verification, eligibility, admissions, and patient access workflows, while also supporting Grand Central functionality related to patient movement, admissions, discharge, transfers (ADT), and hospital operational workflows. The position identifies opportunities to improve system functionality, data integrity, operational efficiency, and the patient and staff experience while supporting all phases of the application lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, build, testing, implementation, training, optimization, and production support.
Working collaboratively with Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, Hospital Operations, clinical leadership, business stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional IT teams, this role serves as a trusted advisor by providing strategic guidance and technical expertise to ensure stability, scalability, interoperability, and long-term success of Epic Patient Access solutions. The analyst promotes standardized workflows, supports regulatory and operational compliance, and drives continuous improvement across patient registration, identity management, insurance eligibility, admissions, patient movement, and downstream system integrations.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Provides first and second level support for enterprise systems and systems in one or more additional IT domains by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex incidents to minimize system issues.
- Supports stability, availability, and performance of enterprise systems (e.g., systems, applications, network, databases, storage, security) by monitoring systems to identify problems, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assists technical and project team members to resolve system problems and application-specific issues.
- Escalates identified issues, risks or problems to lead administrators according to processes.
- Plans and performs complex system configuration.
- Supports communications with product users and suppliers to share information, identify opportunities, resolve problems, prioritize customer requirements, and maintain continuous improvement through customer feedback.
- Defines and tests maintenance and refresh activities.
- Participates in the installation, upgrade, or decommissioning of designated systems, products, and infrastructure.
- Assists with application-oriented administration and technical support for production and non-production environments.
- Supports vendor support activities, as appropriate.
- Recommends and executes performance tuning and optimization activities.
- Creates documentation of new and existing system configuration and procedural information, and reviews documentation of others.

- Minimum two (2) years experience working with EPIC or comparable health system software OR Minimum two (2) years scripting or programming experience.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Social Science, Education, Business, Health Care or related field and Minimum three (3) years working in IT or operations. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- EpicCare Prelude Certification (highest preference), EpicCare Prelude proficiency, Epic Prelude build and configuration experience
EpicCare Grand Central Certification (Secondary preference), EpicCare Grand Central proficiency, Epic Grand Central and configuration experience
EpicCare Benefits Related Certification (Third preference), EpicCare Benefits Related proficiency, Epic Benefits Related build and configuration experience
Any Epic certification
Epic analyst/application analyst experience
